During our visit to Acadia we rode up to the summit of Cadillac Mountain for sunrise every morning. It was a nice ritual preceded by a visit to a local bakery for muffins and juice which we ate as we watched the sun rise over Bar Harbor below us. Every morning was nice, but not colorful - clear blue skies. This morning looked to be a repeat of this pattern, except that shortly after the sun rose above the horizon a bank of low clouds rolled in from the right. The sunlight streaming through the misty clouds created this spectacular orange hue that lasted only a few minutes; and then the clouds were gone and it was another bright blue sky day.
