Mule Canyon, Bears Ears National Monument, UT
These ruins date back about eight hundred years and were built by the Ancient Puebloans (also known as the Anasazi). These are original structures and have not been excavated or reconstructed - a truly national treasure.

The ruins are tucked underneath an overhang within the sandstone canyon. For a short period of time the sun reflects off the canyon wall creating a rich golden light that lights up the Navajo sandstone. The texture and mineral composition of the walls look like flames exploding out of the ruins.
